Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Bogoria National Reserve
Early morning departure to Lake Bogoria through the Great Rift Valley arriving for lunch and thereafter spending the rest of the afternoon game viewing around the beautiful lake.

Day 2: Lake Bogoria National Reserve – Lake Baringo – South Horr
Morning departure to Lake Baringo where you will visit the lake shortly before proceeding to south Horr where you break for the night. With lunch en route, explore the lakeside watching out for the hippos. Proceed to south Horr climbing out of the Great Rift Valley towards Maralal and passing by the homesteads of the red-ochred Samburu people, who are still nomadic. Enjoy a spectacular and scenic climb up Losiolo and down past Baragoi to South Horr where you will camp next to a small clear stream.

Day 3: South Horr – Lake Turkana
Early morning departure to Lake Turkana with the rough road getting worse as you descend across ancient lava flows towards the Jade Sea and the Oasis Loiyangalani lying between the lake and Mt. Kulal. You will arrive at your campsite just outside Loiyangalani soon after lunch and settle in your traditional Turkana huts with a cool breeze blowing from the lake. Indeed a perfect place to relax protected from scorching sun and heat characteristic of the harsh climate of this remote area.

Day 4: Lake Turkana
Spend the day relaxing and bathing only interrupted by a short boat excursion to visit the surrounding areas where crocodiles and birds may be spotted. In addition, you will visit the Loiyangalani communities living around this region. Afterwards break for lunch then in the evening if available, you may visit one of the Turkana Manyattas for traditional dances under a star studded sky if you wish.

Day 5: Lake Turkana – Maralal
Early morning climb up the Horr valley and drive back to Baragoi. Spend the day at this area exploring the local tribes and the fascinating dry landscape. On this day, you will camp further South at Maralal.

Day 6: Maralal – Samburu National Reserve
Early morning departure to Samburu National Reserve for a slight change in environment. Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying game drives within the park which is home to the 3 big cats.

Day 7: Samburu National Reserve
Spend the full day game viewing in the park. Elephants abound: you may see lion, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Grey’s zebra and Oryx.

Day 8: Samburu National Reserve – Nairobi
Early morning departure back to Nairobi with lunch en route. The road back to Nairobi passes over the high shoulder of Mt. Kenya arriving late in the afternoon.
