Detailed Itineraries

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative. Early morning departure from Nairobi driving to the Great Rift Valley viewing beautiful scenery en route. Arrive at the lake for lunch and afternoon game drives. Dubbed ‘the greatest bird spectacle on earth due to the millions of fuchsia-pink flamingo that flock to feed on the teeming algae of its alkaline waters, Lake Nakuru is also an ornithologist’s paradise and also a sanctuary for both black and white rhino. Its pink-frosted shores and sky-mirrored waters also yield some of the most evocatively beautiful photo images in Africa. The park offers an incredible 450 different species of water, fish-eating, terrestrial and migratory birds including the pelican, fish eagle, secretary bird, heron, egret, hammerkop and grebe. Established as Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary, the park now hosts one of the largest black rhino concentrations in the country while substantial numbers of white rhino have also been introduced. You will have a fantastic view of the Lake while at the Baboon cliff, lion Hill and out of Africa Hill. Other animals that may interest you include the buffaloes, Thompson’s and Grant’s Gazelles, the rare long-eared leaf-nosed bats, Colobus monkeys, rock hyraxes, hippos, leopards, lions, rhino, waterbuck, impala, striped hyena, wild cat and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park– Lake Baringo

After breakfast depart for Lake Baringo and arrive in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure enjoying boat rides (at an extra cost) or the cool breeze from the lake. Lake Baringo is one of the only two fresh water Lakes in the Rift Valley. It is surrounded by large arid plains it looks like an oasis in a desert. The lake is also an ornithologist’s paradise since the lake is houses over 450 species of birds including the largest of the heron species, called the goliath heron. Birds are attracted here because it is filled up with a variety of rare fish species. Hippos and crocodiles also find the ecosystem favourable along the shores of the lake. The rock hyrax is another animal that you cannot go without seeing. Also, nearby is a spectacular hot spring which attracts large numbers of visitors annually.

Day 3: Lake Bogoria – Lake Naivasha

Morning departure to Lake Bogoria to view the famous hot Geysers and Flamingos. Lunch will be at the shores of Lake Bogoria. This will be followed by departure to lake Naivasha where you will spend the rest of your evening at leisure. This the highest of all the Rift Valley Lakes at 1880 m above sea level. Being a fresh water lake, it has the greatest number of residents living on its shore. It has become the centre of the booming horticultural export business which is one of Kenya’s leading foreign exchange earner. This area is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 450 species of recorded birds in the area, which are attracted by the yellow-barked acacia trees and blue water lilies. A small islet on the lake is home to a number of wildlife.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Morning departure to Maasai Mara arriving for lunch at the lodge. This will be followed by an afternoon game drive. The afternoon game drive will introduce to the diverse wildlife in this reserve.

Day 5: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Early morning game drive at the Maasai Mara, the northern part of the Serengeti and one of Kenya’s most favored game-viewing areas. Return to the lodge for breakfast and the rest of the morning will be at leisure at the lodge. Another game drive after lunch. This is Kenya’s finest reserve and the vegetation is mostly savanna type with forested areas near the rivers and of course the dwarf acacias to cater for the giraffes. More than 60 species of animals are found here and countless bird species, this includes the masai ostrich and the secretary bird. This is where the great migration of the wildebeest takes place at the beginning of August now acknowledged as one of wonders of the world.

Day 6: Depart

After breakfast, depart for Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight. Lunch on this day will be on own.
